(NEW) Finca Las Cruces, Colombia - Washed
This is a coffee we have been looking forward to sharing.
Towards the end of last year we attended a coffee event in London where we met Esnayder and Tim from importer Sabor Coffee. Esnayder's family farm — Finca Las Cruces — is in Quinchía, Risaralda, and we cupped a single varietal Castillo from it on the day. It was really very good.
What was also cool was discovering that on our very first origin trip to Colombia in 2022, we had visited the dry mill where Esnayder's coffee is processed.
Earlier this year they came to visit us at the roastery and we cupped coffees together, which confirmed we really like Esnayder’s Castillo.
Finca Las Cruces sits at 1,750 metres above sea level in Quinchía, Risaralda. The farm grows Castillo and the coffee is fully washed, with 18 hours of fermentation before being sun-dried on patios. It scored 85.25 at destination cupping — a really clean, characterful cup with plenty to enjoy.
This coffee works well black and also with milk.
