(NEW) Santa María Ozolotepec, Mexico

from £15.00

This coffee is a serious candidate for coffee of the year. It was sourced through my friend Evie from Que Onda who some of you may have met at the Mexican coffee tasting event back in May at The Club House - it was one of the standouts of the evening.

This washed coffee comes from producers in Santa María Ozolotepec. The coffee is known as L7 (Lote 7), as it was the 7th lot fermented that season - a nod to the meticulous processing that goes into each batch.

It has a remarkably creamy body - I think it tastes like double cream. There are notes of blackcurrant, hazelnut and vanilla. It's an exceptionally smooth, luxurious cup.

The bags this coffee came in feature an image of a Tiliche - traditional Mexican folk figures representing the working class and their Indigenous roots. Tiliches are crafted from old and discarded materials, symbolizing resistance and resilience through creative defiance. It's a fitting representation for the hard work and dedication of these producers.

This is the first of two coffees sourced through Evie this season.
