(NEW) Mandarino, Colombia - Washed

from £13.50

This is our first coffee from Minga Coffee, a new importer we've recently started working with, and it's a really lovely introduction to their work.

Mandarino is a solid, classic Huila profile with a creamy body and pronounced caramel sweetness. The name comes from its flavour notes, but also pays homage to the mandarin fruit, which is the most widely grown crop alongside coffee on farms across Huila.

This regional blend comes from smallholder farms in the municipality of Oporapa, a coffee-driven economy where two of Minga's team members were born and raised. With deep-rooted connections in this beautiful region, they've been building and maintaining strong relationships with local producers for over 20 years.

Oporapa sits within the Colombian Massif, a UNESCO Biosphere reserve that holds over 70% of Colombia's freshwater. The limited sunlight in the region—averaging just 3.5 hours per day—creates a natural shade that encourages the development of complexity in the coffee, contributing to its sweet, balanced character.

The blend consists of Castillo and Caturra varietals, grown between 1700-2000 metres above sea level. Minga's quality control team evaluates every single lot individually before blending, ensuring consistency and that familiar Huila profile of caramel, toffee, and medium citrus acidity.

This is everyday drinkable coffee that works beautifully whether you're drinking it black or with milk.
